annual report on activities

Each year the Spanish Episcopal Conference presents the Annual Report on its Activities, a commitment to the State adopted in the year 2007 in regard to transparency, in which it places at everyone’s disposal both the financial information derived from the tax allocation and the information on the activities undertaken by the different Church institutions in our country.

Every year the Episcopal Conference performs a major transparency exercise with society: the publication of the Annual Report on the Activities of the Catholic Church in Spain. It consists of a detailed analysis of what this tax allocation entailed and in which way and in which amounts it has been distributed among the dioceses and other institutions. In fact, it is to give it greater transparency that the Church has been submitting this entire process of collection and distribution of funds to an external audit, which means that this external auditor is already conducting an in-depth analysis of the way all this money is allocated. This Report is then presented to the Ministry of Justice.

Furthermore, it does not limit itself to explaining the distribution of the money received from the box ticked by taxpayers; it also conducts an exhaustive and rigorous analysis of what these funds entail within the total of resources administered by the dioceses.

This Report seeks to show that behind the figures there are also people. So many people behind the work performed by the Church, which every year comes to light thanks to the current accountability system.
